The little one in this picture is Leevay (spelling is no doubt inaccurate -- going off pronunciation), a granddaughter of Make Peggy. When we were in Swaziland that year, we spent five days at Murray Camp, a CarePoint in Manzini. In those short days we got to know the children very, very well. I think most on our team would agree that, while all of the children are gorgeous and tug at your heartstrings, there is sometimes a connection with at least one who leaves you completely broken, yet wanting to be and become much more because of him/her. Leevay was that to me, and this picture was snapped at the moment we said goodbye. It was pretty heavy stuff!
When we return to Swaziland, how awesome it will be to take Leevay up in my arms again and tell her that we'll be seeing a quite a bit more of her. I will also be sure to tell her that she definitely left me better than she found me. :)
"Then he took the children his his arms and place his hands on their heads and blessed them." Mark 10:16 (NLT)
