Track and Field and Tattoo Parlor Tuesday...

34
After a long, beautiful holiday weekend, it's best to take it low-key and ease back into the week... which is what the girlies and I did today.

Ave's 1st grade 'Track and Field' Day was this morning, and we arrived to find our trackster very camera shy and borderline embarrassed that his girlies had arrived to cheer him on! Nonetheless, we were able to snap a few...

Avery was part of the boys' 400 meter relay team... big man number three. He's really into cocking his hat this way... it must be the skater punk in him. Like son, like father...

The hand-off...

Our little guy, running for all he's worth...

And, the ribbon. Ave was really sad that they finished in 4th place, but I reminded him that not everyone can excel in everything, especially when said someone is going to be a pro skater, scooter rider, and pastor extraordinaire. He's got a lot on his plate!

After we left the track and field event, the girlies and I made a trip down to our favorite piercing and tattoo parlor. No ink or new holes for me... just needed my little nose bling adjusted and the chance for a photo op in front of one of their favorite places. They are big fans of Saint Sabrina's -- it's either the culture of Hennepin Avenue or the suckers that they're given when they visit. Probably the latter. :)

A last-minute addendum after this was published -- Ave just ran downstairs to get his ribbon, and he came up with a green one (5th place). I asked him why he now had a different one, as his other one above was yellow. He said simply... "Tyler was feeling bad because he took last place, so I traded with him and then he felt better." You are one sweet boy, my relay champion.
