March Newsletter and Update...

34
Hello, hello from beautiful Swaziland!

Below you'll find our March newsletter! If you didn't receive your very own copy in your inbox and would like to, just let us know and we'll get you added to the list.

As far as an update -- things are awesome. I can't believe that the Valentine's Day trampoline picture was taken a month ago -- our first full day in Swaziland, Africa. Amazing.

Today is Avery's 8th birthday. His eyes lit up when he woke up this morning and realized that this birthday was being celebrated in Africa -- how many children can say that? We got him a fun wire car (very popular with the Swazi kids!), and also his very own guitar -- he'll start lessons next week. He's ready to rock!

I think we're pretty much settled into our home -- a few little things here and there to find places for, but for the majority of things we're done. We'll start homeschooling later this week -- I think we're all ready for more structure! We have water and electricity (thank you, God!), but we don't have internet as of yet. However, our sweet 'Cup friends, Jerry and Karen Holte (who live in the same complex) have "loaned" out their internet to us while they're back in the States. So, we have keys to their home and can plug in when we need to. What a blessing. We love you, Holtes! Enjoy your time away -- and we'll see you next month!

Our weather here has been very warm, but it's sooo refreshing how the evenings cool off. It reminds us of our years living in the Bay Area. We leave the windows open at night, although one of the neighbor kitties surprised Avery two nights ago at 1am and pounced on his bed looking for a little attention, so we don't keep the windows opened as far any longer (although Ave loved his visitor). Most of you in the States are looking for a warm-up soon, and we're headed for a cool down into fall. I'm thinking that we'll still be able to get away with flip flops the majority of the year, even if we freeze a little!

We love you all... we miss you... but it's so awesome to know that we are in the center of His will. Things are so peaceful. So completely blessed to be here! Still can't believe that we live in Africa. So honored that He has chosen us, and so thankful for the amazing support from all of you. Words cannot express how grateful we are!

PS -- When are you visiting? RVC Global Team Swaziland 2011 in December? Would love to see you -- and we have three kiddies with tons of hugs to go around. :)
