Soon after we moved to Swaziland, we learned of wonderful music and art classes that we have been able to fit into our schedules. These classes allow the kiddies to be provided with great enrichment, but they also allow for interaction with peers. The children in their classes are missionary kids from the States, children from South Africa, and even Swaziland. (Okay, the Swazi cutie is Julie Anderson's daughter, but it still counts!). The teachers love Jesus, and they are incredible with the kiddies.
Their art teacher, Mrs. Annandale, has a studio right in her home. She has such a sweet, sweet spirit and an incredible passion for art. The works that the kiddies are able to produce under her care and direction are just amazing.
These are the masterpieces they created and brought home yesterday. For this exercise they were studying an artist and painted as they looked at an art print.
Avery: "This is when Jesus was carrying the cross, and then He fell. A man picked it up for Him."
Iliea: "Jesus was hanging onto Mary's hand."
Ellie: "It's a dollie -- she's sitting in the grass."
Obviously, Ellie's art print was from a little bit different time period than the other two. :)
